Normas mínimas de seguridad

Desde el año 2015, con el Decreto 554, se actualizó la reglamentación para las piscinas de conjuntos residenciales, en la cual se establece normas mínimas como:

-No permitir el acceso a menores de doce (12) años sin la compañía de un adulto.

-El agua debe permanecer limpia y sana.

-Se deberá tener un botiquín de primeros auxilios con material para curaciones.

-En el área de la piscina es obligatorio que haya por lo menos dos (2) flotadores circulares con cuerda y un bastón con gancho.

-Se deberá escribir en colores vistosos y en letra grande, visible con claridad para cualquier persona, la profundidad máxima de la piscina.

-En caso de emergencia, debe haber un teléfono o citófono en la zona de la piscina.

Adicionalmente, las piscinas de conjuntos residenciales deben contar con una persona salvavidas por cada piscina durante los fines semana, al igual que en época de vacaciones escolares y cuando se realicen eventos sociales en la piscina o sus alrededores que involucren menores de 14 años.

Otros requisitos

La normatividad del 2015 se añadió a la reglamentación ya existente para las piscinas.

Se trata de la ley 1209 de 2008, que especifica que las piscinas de todo el país deberán tener dispositivos electrónicos, duchas, lava pies, vestidores, guardarropas, primeros auxilios, piscinero, piso antideslizante, baldosines claros, dos escaleras y desagües que no representen peligro para los bañistas, entre otros.

De acuerdo con la norma, los dispositivos electrónicos a base de baterías que funcionen de manera independiente, tendrán que producir sonidos de alerta superiores a 80 decibeles, en caso de que alguna persona caiga en la piscina.

Además es importante un drenaje que succione materiales flotantes como hojas, insectos, papeles, polvo, entre otros. Esos desagües deberán contar con un dispositivo que controle el grado de absorción y así no represente peligros para los bañistas.

Todas las piscinas deberán disponer de una persona encargada que realice el mantenimiento y control de las aguas.

Aparte, un piscinero que vigile a los bañistas y tenga alguna preparación, en cuanto a rescate y primeros auxilios, por si se presenta una emergencia.

Alrededor de la piscina debe haber andenes perimetrales, duchas, lava pies, vestidores, guardarropas, baterías sanitarias, sistemas de tratamiento, depósitos, zona de primeros auxilios y barreras que impidan el acceso directo a las albercas. Éstas deberán contar con puertas o torniquetes que dificulten su paso.
